Account Deletion

Need your account deleted?

You can delete your account inside the FamilyKeeps app. If you do not want to use the app to do that, you can request deletion by email and our team will help. Please tell us whether you want your full account and shared content deleted, or whether you only want your login credentials removed while leaving shared content in place for your family.

How to request deletion by email

1Send an email to info@familykeeps.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request.”
2Include your full name.
3Include the email address used on your FamilyKeeps account.
4Tell us whether you want all shared content deleted, or whether you only want your user credentials deleted while leaving your shared content available for your family.
5If helpful, include any extra details that will help us identify your account faster.

What may be retained

FamilyKeeps is built around connected family trees. In some cases, removing one profile completely could break the relationships that connect other family members. When that happens, we keep only what is necessary to preserve the tree for everyone else.

Deleting your account removes your ability to sign in and starts the deletion process for your account data.
If your profile node on the family tree is needed to keep other family members connected in the tree, FamilyKeeps may retain only your name on that family tree node so the structure remains intact for other users.
All other personal data associated with your account will be deleted.
By default, shared content connected to your account will also be deleted unless you specifically request that we only delete your user credentials and leave your shared content available for your family.
